Admission Procedure
Every candidate has to qualify through GATE (2010). This will be followed by Group Discussion and Interview of the short listed candidates to be held at NITIE, Mumbai. Candidates need to submit a photocopy of GATE score card / printout of GATE score from website. Selection of Industry sponsored candidates with 2 years industry experience is through personal interview only (NO GATE SCORE REQUIRED).
Admission Requirements
Admissions to PGDIE course are open to graduates in all branches of Engineering/Technology or equivalent. The candidate must have first class degree (relaxation by 5% in case of SC/ST/PD 0candidates).
Seats
A total of 127 seats are available. Reservation of SC/ST/OBC belonging to non-creamy layer and Physically Disabled candidates is according to Government regulation. Seats are also available for sponsored candidates.
Application Process
Interested candidates can apply to NITIE through ONLINE mode: Candidates can fill the application form ONLINE. Application fee of Rs 1000/- (Rs 500/- in case of SC/SC/PD candidates) and applicable bank charges can be paid in the form of challan (downloadable from NITIE website) in any branch of State Bank of India. Hard copy of filled in online Application duly signed by the candidate should be sent to The Deputy/ Assistant Registrar (Academic),NITIE ,Vihar Lake, Mumbai – 400087 ,along with Institute’s copy of the challan and copies of the relevant certificates as mentioned in the Instructions section of the website. The candidates applying for the Industry Sponsored Category (ISP) should fill in the Sponsorship Form also. To apply online go to www.nitie.edu
Financial Assistance
GATE qualifiers get GOI teaching assistantship of Rs.8000/- per month and a contingency Grant of Rs 5000/- per year. SC/STcandidates are granted financial assistance as per the scheme of Govt. of India vide letters NO. 11016/19/2005.SCD-I dated 21.6.2007 & 19012/36/05-Education dated 27.6.2007 subject to the satisfactory fulfillment of terms and conditions mentioned therein..
Every PGDIE Student receiving TA is required to undertake 8-10 hours per week of work related to teaching and research activities as assigned to him/her by the Institute.
Students must secure a first class or equivalent CGPA/Grade during the first semester and the second semester examinations, to become eligible for continuance of teaching assistantship during the second semester and the third semester respectively.
